New drivetrain for 2012

Ok...so...after more than a year, over 1,000 miles, and probably over a dozen races...i have determined that i need to go back to a dual chainring up front....i love the 1 by 10...the simplicity...never dropping ur chain...but with all the climbing and tech stuff (rocks) around here...my legs are begging for a break...this was apparent when i rode the entire 30 mile blue marsh loop (which was awesome) with my backup specialized p bike and my legs never burned as much as a 15 mile trexler or 14 mile sals rides....after a while i just loose the torque required to keep that single ring pedaling up some of the hills around here...and forget races...after 10 miles or so...i'm spent...depending on the course....so back to 2 by...the dilemma is chainring combo...i wanted to do the hammerschmidt...so i could keep the short cage derailleur...but it may not be compatable with my frame...cause it requires a howitzer bb which is threaded...and my stumpy frame is pf30....so then i was thinking race face turbine...or maybe even sram 10 speed x7 or x9 with a e13 or new truavtiv dual guide...but no online dealers seem to have much...some of the chainring combos seem crazy...28/40...even 26/39...i did find a race face turbine crank with a 24/36 combo...that seems ideal...but i'm still holding out for a hammy...the first sram person i talked to said woudn't recommend using with my frame...the other said it should be fine with an adapter with i adready have for my race face respond cranks...thoughts?...it would be paired with a 12-36 10-speed rear cassette.
