I think I remember French Creek being on the VMB Hit List, but I'm not sure. If it is on the list I want to give the heads up that me and 2 of the three John's are heading down there this Sunday July 18.
Here is the reason I didn't put it in the event scheduler - WE ARE STARTING AT 8:30AM!! :yikes: I know that is like 2 hours before VMB East wakes up on a Sunday. Sorry, that's how we roll. Anyway, all you folks have an open invitation to join us. French Creek is a nice ride; kind of a mix between Sals and Jordan. It has decent flow, but not as clean a flow as Sals and is on the rocky side of the scale, but not quite as rocky as Sals either. It is a well traveled system on the scale of Jordan and can get somewhat conjested, but it doesn't snake around like Jordan and has much more trail milage. If Jordan has become a comfy and fun ride for you, but Sals is still tough to clean the whole thing - then French Creek could be a great ride for you.
We are planning on doing about 18 miles, but at the 11 mile point you can easily bail and only be about a mile from the cars by road.
Give me a call or a text, (please tell me who you are if you text) 484-515-3271.
French Creek is located just south of Birdsboro in Berks County. I live in Kutztown and can be there in about 35 minutes on a Sunday morning. If you want to meet here in K-town call me anytime after 6:30am tomorrow morning. I will have already had my first cup of coffee.
