Snakes

Read in the newspaper about an ATV rider who got stuck out in the wilderness somewhere and when he got off the ATV to try to free himself he got bit by a snake :yikes: Can't remember many more of the details but he was recupriating in the hospital in satisfactory condition. Got me thinking, and gave me a serious case of the heebie-jeebie's on my last ride when I was out in the middle of nowhere and dismounted my trusty Kona to put back on my chain that jumped off. The voices in my head kept asking...what in the F would I do if I got bit while out on the trail?????? Whether by myself or with someone else. Does it matter, other than have your trail buddy suck the venom out LOL  Seriously, this is on my mind lately. Especially when ya think about trail maintenance, dabbing in a rock garden, falling off into thy thickets, or countless other possibilities. I know, I know, stay on the bike and keep it moving, don't give da critters a chance to sink their fangs in ya! What do ya'all think...Ride out, stay put, call 911, carve out the bite zone with your trusty machette, amputate, ... ugh, I'm creepin' myslef out, but certainly a legitimate question for those of us out in the sticks alot. Come on all you Boy/Girl Scouts, EMT's, survivalists??? :?
