Follow up Glen Park, Open Space Meeting, Wednesday, March 17, 7pm

Date:
Wednesday, March 17, 2010 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

This is a reminder that we will be having another meeting at the same place as last. The Tannersville Inn at 7pm in the back room of the Inn, regarding Glen park/ Godfrey Ridge McDade trails and the events we spoke about at the first meeting. I really hope you can attend this meeting regarding trails and our club here in Monroe County. we're doing great leg work to help promote cycling in the area. I know some of you are not able to attend this or any meetings because of where you live. There will be more info on our website with even more contacts that are involved in the club and the areas here in Monroe County. I hope you can support us by joining our club and work together to make cycling stand out in our area. I'm just as excited as you to get out there and ride some trails soon. Even though some of us have ridden straight through the winter, theres nothing like the smell of fresh warm air and some fun singletrack under your wheels or way under your wheels for those of you who freeride LOL.... So join us in our efforts please and pass it along to anyone else that might be interested in our area. Subjects we are discussing are: Glen Park Clean up dates trash removal and trail clearing - mainly a walk through on the trails but the clean up usually is two areas in general that people dump trash at. Getting a weekly beginner friendly ride either at McDade or Glen Park dated and set up for the spring to get riders involved in. We've got a lot of calls on this one. Getting a weekly expert level ride together at Glen Park and other spots and set up a schedule for them. Shuttling at Glen Park freeriding and downhilling dates of interest to mark and set aside. ESU'S Earth / Bike Day April 23rd we'll be doing a obstacle course ride with the University. It's free and anyone can participate , bring your own bike and helmet, otherwise we'll have bikes to demo as well. My sponsor Marin will be ther with the demo van and trailer as well as helping with the cause. If any of you have been to ESU's Earth day it's a fun day with alot of booths handing out information on Eco friendly items. We'll have a booth there explaining our club and what it provides for the community and what we do to create a healthier lifestyle for everyone. The obstacle course will be on the Quad's grass field nice and soft. And will be tame but we will have a few bridges and some obstacles that will need construction before hand. IT will start at 12:00 and run til 4:00 on the 23rd. I will give more info out on the events at the meeting. If you can't make the meeting and want to help out please let me know. Please check out our website at www.bikevmb.com and we all look forward to getting started.
