On August 1, 2009 at 9:00 am., Fountain Hill offers the George Yasso Memorial 5K. The course winds through Fountain Hill, is accurately measured with splits every mile, 5-year age divisions with refreshments and prizes at the finish. Changing, toilet and shower facilities are available and so is the pool to cool off afterward!
All race proceeds go to the George Yasso and James Skelly Scholarship Funds which award scholarships to two local scholar-athletes each year.
If you ride sals, you know dodson street. It's right behind the Wawa. The real address is The Fountain Hill Community Pool at 1445 Speigel Street in Fountain Hill.
Entry fee is $20.00 for day of race regristration, and $10 for high school students or younger.
If you're interested and want more info I've run it many years in a row. It's a very nice event. There's always great food afterward for runners and their friends and family. Get there early to register and hope to see you there!
