I'm looking at doing my first ultramarathon (if you want to call it that, it's on the lesser half of ultra's) and have begun a regular training regiment. It's a 50k trail run in September and I'm looking at getting a HRM to compliment the training. I know a lot of you guys use the Garmin 705 but that's not convenient for running. I'd like something that is wearable as a watch. Polar makes some watch-style monitors that can also do GPS (either internally or through an external GPS clip-chip). I'd like it to be both running and bike compatible, so distance, speed, etc. are good features. I've ruled out cadence because the only Polar watches that can do that push $450 and I'm not looking to break the bank. Thanks.
