So I am leaving the Doctors office yesterday flying high, because I got the green light to start riding on moderate stuff, i.e. Jordan and the Jake. WaHoo!! I'm on the phone with Abbie to tell her the good news.
As I'm cruising down I-78 toward 309 out of nowhere bounces a blown truck tire. Not just fragments the entire outer rubber ring intact. :yikes: Can't go left - minivan, can't go right - oncoming traffic from the onramp. Oh S**t, I'm gonna hit it. I react as quickly and as smart as I can. I focus on the bouncing rubber...line it up....hit between the tires....the debrit settles for just one moment...impact!! Bang, Bump! "F**k!" :cryin: Hang up, listen....no bad noises coming from the car. No bad smells. Car seems OK...get off at the next exit...check damage. Get out look underneath. No leaks, no dents...wait...CRAP! Broken plastic front, broken plastic back. Call Honda and make an appointment....Call insurance, what's my deductible? Saddest part, there goes my new wheelset most likely. If it wasn't for Bad Luck, I'd have no luck at all.
Bottom line, I'll be seeing ya all out there real soon. I just won't be sporting some new spinners that I was all ready to buy this week. Sorta wanted to treat myself to a reward for putting in all my hard work at PT. Oh well, at least I can ride...right?
Keep your eyes peeled for a "Return of the Ugly Shoes Ride" coming soon.
