I built a single speed hardtail up from scraps from the boys bikes. I rode it for the first time today in Jordan and I think I chose the wrong gearing. It's set up with a 36 tooth front chainring and a 18 tooth cog on the back (52" gearing). It felt like it was too big of a gear to push. Any suggestions? By the way, outside of the gearing issue, it was the most fun I've had on a bike in a while (not counting Saturday night, Joe!). I cleared every log crossing I came to, which is a first for me, just ask Jonk and AndyK.
