Hi there. Well, I finally got out for my first real trail ride. Hubby took me to Jacobsburg on Friday. He took me on the blue trail.. WOW...I wasn't expecting the climb. Not steep, but seemed like it would NEVER end. This 37 year old mother of two learned just how out of shape she really is!
Going down rocked, but we must have taken a wrong turn somewhere, because when we got to the bottom, we were suddenly on the yellow trail, and realized we would have to go BACK up the hill we just came down. :jawdrop:
We rode for about 2 hours, and despite the climbs, it was really great. Especially the coming back down part. Not technical at all, but I look forward to getting to that kind of stuff soon. Right now I need to work on my cardio fitness level. Any tips for that, besides "just keep doing it"?
When we got back to the parking lot, we met a guy named Pedro, in a white pickup, who was really chill. He was just getting ready to hit the trail. Gave us lots of tips and advice about local trails and the best time to ride them. I don't know why I'm always so surprised how friendly and helpful everyone in this sport seems to be.
you guys Rock!
