BUILD NEW TRAILS AT SALS 9/21/08 9am

Date:
Sunday, September 21, 2008 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

Its getting to be that time of year for trail building again. Most of what we build over at Sals gets done in the Fall and Winter, when the woods are a nicer place to be working in.

We have built approx 9.5 miles of singletrack so far. This has all been done using hand tools by volunteers. All of this hard work is getting noticed as our trail system at Sals features prominently in the latest issue of BIKE magazine.

There are some new trails planned for you to participate in the construction of. They are both along the upper part of Consitution Dr near the powerline crossing and yellow bridge. One is an offshoot of the upper red trail that will go through the interesting creek area and connect to John E's cool switchback turn. Another is an addition to the exciting new "Girly Man" trail that will hook into the boulder trail. In the next few weeks these will be flagged out and ready to build.

This trailbuilding day is being scheduled a month in advance so you can plan ahead!.

We will be doing stuff like brush clearing, benchcutting, rock moving and rock filling, boulder moving(John!) , and dirt filling between rocks.Tools will be provided but you can bring your own if you like. If you have never seen the process and would like to learn more about trailbuilding this is an excellent opportunity to do so. Its even close to the road so you don't have to walk very far!

Meet up on Constitution Dr near the yellow bridge. We'll probably head into town for lunch afterwards and maybe even do a ride! If you have any questions feel free to ask! Trailbuilding is cool and everyone usually has a good time! Hope to see you there!
