Southside Bethlehem Alert

Thought I'd share this since many of us live, work or play on the Southside.

This was forwarded to me by a teacher at Northampton Community College. It is from the Dean at the Southside Location. Be careful out there!!

Hi: Please feel free to share this with students, instructors and others who may not receive this email...

You have probably read about a series of incidents over the last few weeks concerning robberies of Lehigh students while they were walking off campus.
Four times a group of teenagers has robbed Lehigh students as they walked alone near campus. The group has been described by police as "possibly around 16 years of age, dark skinned, and they are all wearing hoodies." One report said the group included seven people.

Lehigh has urged students not to walk alone at night. Lehigh and city police are on heightened alert to patrol the areas more frequently. At NCC our security guards are aware of the incidents and have been asked to be extra vigilant in patrolling the parking lots and the building.

While there have been no incidents near the immediate area of the Fowler Center, I recommend that NCC staff and students also refrain from walking alone at night - particularly in the areas closer to the university. Please report any unusual activity to the security guard.

Thanks,
Paul
