Salisbury trailbuilding plans

Spring is here and the nice weather riding season is underway. We have been quite busy over the past several months continuing with our trail building project at the Walking Purchase park.

Most of our effort has gone into adding some new trail in the area near the boulder trail. This is an extension of the bypass trail that is there now, designated blue. Building this trail has been difficult due to the rocky terrain and it is now rideable. As it is now this represents only a portion of what the trail will become in the future. Thankfully, we have completed the hardest part.

This trail section features some cool insloped turns. When you have the right materials around (like rocks and clay dirt), you can build some cool lines. The downside is that this is very time consuming. Some of these turns are rough but you can easily ride them and they will be completed as time permits.

Regarding plans for other trails from here on out hopefully we can start on an addition to the orange trail which will feature a 1/4 pipe section. This will be a "flow" trail and would generally be ridden one-way. Everyone who has hiked out this area thinks this would be cool.

There is the second part of the blue bypass extension which will head back down the hill from where we have been working to the original bypass trail. This section looks like it will be more rake and ride stuff.

We still have to complete the yellow trail bypass thing but that will go pretty easy.

Hopefully we can have these additions flagged out before the green explosion in the next few weeks.

Thanks everyone for helping out over the Winter!Look for our trailwork posts. Inquire if you are interested in working or want to lead a trailwork session on your own.If you have any ideas how to get more people out there working on trails we would like to her about it!
