WE'RE MEETING AT THE ST LUKES DIALYSIS CENTER at 11AM !
Here is the game plan-please show up if you can. There is about 4" of snow in the woods so dress appropriately.
We'll see who shows up and then see if we split into 2 groups. On the SL side we'll clear a tree near St Lukes and head over towards the red/yellow junction to brushcut a trail. If enough people show, a crew may split off and head over to the area near the boulder trail by Consitution. Otherwise we'll head over to the top over Constitution when we're done by St Lukes.
Here is the stuff that we are going to work on Sunday;
CHAINSAWING-
Biggest offending log is on the upper orange right by St Lukes. This one is about 16" diameter and completely blocks the trail.
A tree is down on the lower orange between the hobo and orange/red junction. About 10" diameter but not super critical. It hanging in the air at an angle and blocks the trail
There are several trees down at the corner of the Dodson lot at the old trailhead. We don't use this for riding as much but the hikers use it.
There are several downed trees to cut through on the bypass to the yellow sticker chute. There are 5-6 logs to cut through, depending on which route we choose. 2 routs are taped out(same basic route with 2 different ending choices). We'll decide on which one we want to build when we're there tomorrow morning.
A few trees to cut through where the red crosses the top of Constitution.
Might be some trees down on the Peak trail but I didn't check it out.
BRUSH CUTTING-
We're gonna brushcut a replacement trail that runs right below the yellow sticker chute trail. This is pretty open except where it has to cross the sticker chute and connect to the existing singletrack.
The red trail where it crosses Consti at the top . We're gonna hook the new part back to the old crossing.Lots of brush and vines, etc.
The new trail (blue bypass extension) where it crosses the powerline at the 3rd tower. We have to brush cut through something that was cleared 3 years ago but grew in.
HIKING-
depending on how things go we may do a small hike hear the blue bypass extension to check out a possible route to Western Sals
We can also hike the 1/2 pipe area just below the upper red where it crosses the gas pipeline. Not a high priority but its cool and if we're over there....
TOOLS REQUIRED-
I have 3 bow saws and 3 or 4 loppers and a weedwacker. That's what we need plus at least 2 chainsaws.
