New Year's Resolutions 2008 - Results

Most of the items on this list are bike related, however not all of them directly. Enjoy.

1. Eliminate half of my debt, so I can buy more bike stuff without the stinkeye.

- Well I was able to reduce it by about a third, not bad with this last years economy

2. Sell my VT frame

- failed, I still have it, but it is built up and displayed in the window at King's Cyclery in K-town

3. Buy more bike stuff.

- I did, but some of it was used to save $

4. Participate in at least 5 trail building days.

- close, but no cigar. I think I have 3 or 4 only.

5. Participate in one race.

- Nope, spent most of my year on IR

6. Ride a trail in another state.

- Yep, Got out to Allamuchy

7. Ride every day for at least one week.

- Yep, late July I got to ride BC (twice), SME, Jordan, and on the 5th day of the week SMB plus my normal rides on the weekend. Greatest week I ever spent on a bike.

8. Get all of my lingering home projects done so I can ...... (see #'s 4, 5, 6 and 7)

- Amazingly yes, Stained the deck, replaced Garage wood trim, finished my front porch railing

9. Ride a 29er at least once.

- Sadly no

10. Get my wife out on the trails at Sals every Tuesday from May to October.

- Abbie and I got off to a good start, but it faded in early July. This is going at the top of the list in '09.

11. Get my daughter her first mountain bike for her 4th birthday in April.

- She actually has 3 mtb's now. Her birthday bike, plus the in-laws got her one for at their house, plus I have the tag-along for her. I suppose that is only half of a mtb.

12. Go on a mountain bike weekend vacation.

- Sadly no again

13. Go to "The Bash" in September for the first time.

- Oh, yeah, baby. Awesome time!!!

14. Clear a gap jump.

- Nope, don't know if I ever will, my track record for booboo's is less than stellar.

15. Introduce someone new to mountain biking.

- Take a Kid Mtb day hopefully will produce some returning riders for life

16. Drink beer (Oh Yeah, I already met this resolution)
16. Brew beer (not sure if I can achieve this one, but I figure it will be fun to try...Maybe call it VMB Trail Ale)

- Unfortunately did more drinking than brewing

17. Kick the crap out of my niece and nephew in Guitar Hero III.

- They are better than I thought they would be

18. Remain injury and disease free.

- Need I say anything. :cryin:

19. Ride a trail in PA that I have never ridden before.

- My trip to RB Winter with Don took care of this one. Thanks Don.

20. Go to Ray's

- Carry this one over to '09 also.

That's it. Not listed in any particular order of importance either, But that Guitar Hero III game has me addicted. Curse you Les Paul!!
