*SOLD* 18" Surly Pugsley, 2011

*SOLD*

Well gosh darn it, I had plans to trade this for a Big Dummy with some guy in Ohio (he offered), but he just backed out on me, something about being too attached to his bike.

Unfortunately for me, in that week of emailing, I somehow convinced myself that I need a cargo bike.

Sooooo, up for sale this goes. I honestly haven't ridden it since I bought a full squish bike early in the spring, and I don't forsee using it anytime soon. Plus I purposely bought a size down from my normal and now after riding my other bikes so much I'm kinda feeling cramped on this (although I wasn't before, so who knows).

It's the stock build as seen here: http://surlybikes.com/bikes/pugsley

...and to that, I have taken off the big ring (you can have it) and put on an e.Thirteen bash guard... SRAM X9 med cage rear derailleur with X9 shifter... Salsa riser bars (you can have the flats too), Oury lockons (w/sweet ass Cutters logos), barely used Surly Nate 120TPI tire (I paid $120), barely used 45NRTH Husker Du tire (I paid $110), an old Surly Larry tire that still has life left, a spare tube ($12-18 value depending on your LBS), and a Hurricane ForkUp adapter for fork mount bike rack ($65 value).

So, there's over $2000 in it, brand new you can buy a complete without the extra stuff for $1,650, mine has some cosmetic scratches but mechanically is superb. Any scratches down to metal (very few) were touched up immediately. Bike was stripped down and Boeshield framesaver was applied before I took delivery.

This thing is silly fun- I rode it far more on dry singletrack than I did in snow. It loves the boulder field at Sals (plus I would amaze ladies by riding a rigid bike there, seriously...I suspect if you are a lady reading this and buy it, that your effect on men would be quadruple-fold what I've experienced) and is incredibly playful. Plus, you know in the early winter when the leaves and the ground start to freeze over and you sink down into the frozen leaves and start leaving ruts and it's a pain to pedal, yet you still are in denial that the good riding season is almost over? With this bike you literally float over that. It honestly will extend your riding season because of how soft it rides over the soil.

I am asking $1,100... I am terrible at negotiating (odd given that I am a car salesman), I know I can get more (for reals), or should start more to haggle down blah blah blah but I just want to make it nice and simple.

If you do PayPal, you can put it on your charge card! Think about it- $3 a DAY to ride near year round. Wink

Right-click and select "open image in new tab" or whatever, for some reason when I post them the sides are cropped:

The MKS pedals in the pic were from when I was bumming around on it at the park with my 3 year old son, they are not included, but they aren't ideal for the bike anyhow.

Oh, I am 6 foot even, with I believe a 34" PBH, I think the ideal person would be in the 5'8"-5'10" range. Some 6'0" people may be happy too. You are welcome to a demo ride at either Sals, Jordan, or SME if you are a serious buyer.
