Knee Rehab Update

Well, it has been 10 weeks since my ACL was reconstructed and I was doing great. I was about 2 weeks ahead of schedule. My PT was getting me ready to start doing a light jog at week 11.

However, I had a setback last Friday. I was up at Bear Creek supervising lessons and as we were shutting down and bringing in all of the cones I slipped on hidden ice and felt a nasty tweek. Luckily I was wearing my brace, but I feared the worst. This past Tuesday I visited my Dr. and after a check of the ACL I am happy to report that the new ACL is still in tact, but I did tear/pull a portion of my hamstring that was used for the graft.

So, I am presently on the shelf for a week. It's been frustrating to say the least. I start PT again on monday and hope that the hammy is ready to get strong. Dr. Stansbury doesn't see any reason why this would keep me from getting back on schedule, since I was ahead anyway. He told me I should be able to ride flat easy stuff by late April/early May.

Thanks everybody who has been asking how I am doing. I really miss all of you and riding with you.

BTW I quit BC for this year. Stansbury and I agreed it is probably the best thing. No Brainer, right?
