New handlebar setup on my Long Haul Trucker

These aren't the most flattering picture angles, but in my earlier thread on the iBert Safe-T-Seat, I mentioned that the LHT was getting an albatross bar conversion, and take over child portaging duties.

We've had this setup for about two weeks now, I just forgot how to post pictures, but it's proving to be a very fun around town ride. It's seen it's fair share of longer gravel road exploration and nature paths, too. Very comfy!

I wasn't using the drop part of the drop bars that were on the bike earlier, so no big loss.

Nitto North Road bars, 55cm, and cork grips and hemp from Rivendell, with two coats of amber shellac.

I had wanted to order the Nitto Albatross bars from Rivendell, but they were on backorder like the whole summer, so I just got North Road bars from elsewhere, which are verrrry similar. Here's a side-by-side pic from EcoVelo to show the difference/similarities, my bars are on the left:

The only thing we need now is two rear baskets for going to the grocery store or whatever, something like the Wald 582 or Basil Bottle.

It's rather geeky I suppose but I had fun doing it, and it's neat having a relaxed ride that we can amble around on :cornut:
