Another message via the VMB contact form, from a guy named Gary Harrington:
Hi. I am the promoter for the mountain bike film Reveal The Path, which is the followup film to the wildly popular and award-winning film Ride The Divide which you may have seen. I am currently scheduling shows for Reveal The Path nationwide and am inquiring as to whether the Valley Mountain Bikers would like to partner with us for a screening in the Lehigh Valley this winter? Some of you may have attended our screening of Bicycle Dreams last spring at the SteelStacks in Bethlehem, which would be our first choice for a venue. When we work with groups such as yours, we take care of all the financial obligations association with the show, provide you all the promotional materials and promote the event as being presented as a benefit by and for your organization. After the show, we are able to return to you a minimum of 10% of the gross receipts from the show. While we realize this is not going to be a huge amount, the event does additionally provide your club with a forum to get your message across to the cycling public, the chance to recruit new members, and if nothing else a fun evening out in the middle of winter for the cycling community. Also, we encourage you to incorporate some sort of raffle or auction with the event in order to realize addition monies -- we have had groups that solicited donated cycling items and conducted a raffle after the show and made an additional $3000. Please check out our trailer at www.revealthepath.com and I look forward to hearing from you regarding your interest in such as event. Thank you.
My reply was that we'd think it over and I'd get back to him. So, do we partner with these guys -- whatever that might even mean -- to get this played at SteelStacks (or elsewhere)? I don't remember, was "Ride The divide" a charity event?
