I get Health Alerts from PA Dept. of Health and I got an alert about 3 Sudden Cardiac Deaths Associated with Lyme Carditis in PA in the past year. Before this year, "only four cases have been reported in the US medical literature". I just wanted to pass this along because we all spend alot of time in the woods and Lyme disease sucks and something must be going on for 3 people to have died from it in one year.
Just wanted to give a heads up. It is a simple blood test you can get done just to make sure you don't have it. In the report it said the people that died were not diagnosed prior to their deaths, which means they didn't even know they had it.
Talk to your family MD or just go to one of the many clinics now in the area and get tested. Our family doc and pediatrician have agreed to test us yearly due to us being such an outdoor family.
