Hi ALL, Newbie here trying to get more involved in Mountain Biking so I joined VMB late last year. I've been watching the board ever since for beginners rides / skills clinics, etc. I did attend Renee's Beginner Ride @ Sal's' and had a 'really good time'! Honestly though at my level I prefer Nox. & had FUN at Trex (but did enjoy the challenge of Sals).
My biggest issue is that I work 3-11 PM and rarely have a day off, so that leaves out 'most' of the rides I've seen posted.
That being said, I'm posting to see if anyone else has the same interests / hours (mid-morning / early afternoon) and willing to ride? I really enjoy riding with people better than I (so that's pretty much everyone) but do realize the burden it puts on them (babysitting) so I try not to be a PITA.
I've been to J'burg, Jordan, Trex (usually get lost there ?) right now I'm most comfortable at Nox, but have yet to 'clean-it'. I'm thinking when I can clean Nox consistently, I can start to think about moving up to something else like Sal's, but at this level, I do not really 'enjoy' the rocky sections there, but 'managed' with the beginner ride.
I'd like to learn the skills necessary to be a better rider. Bunny-hopping, jumping, learning to 'get some air' even if it is 1" instead of riding over everything, riding down (and up) steps, rock gardens, cornering etc.
Watching videos just don't work for me as good as being behind someone and absorbing what they are doing.
Thanks in Advance, Any Input ?
