1) Continental Mountain King 2.4 Supersonic Tires
I actually won this tire at a recent event. It replaces my go-to front tire, the WTB MotoRaptor 2.4. I've been generally satisfied with the WTB for years, but recently was thinking I might be able to find something that wouldn't wash as much on fast turns.

I'm pretty sure "Supersonic" is German for stupid-light. Considering our local terrain, this could mean trouble -- both in terms of flats and possible sidewall damage.

I've never had a new tire that didn't seem pretty great. One ride so far and it seems to hook up well through the turns. And, my front wheel feels noticeably lighter.

2) 29" Wheels
These came attached to a bike I picked up recently ;-).
I've been curious about the wheel size for some time. I know there's been a ton of opinions on the matter. As I bank more rides on this new ride, I'll do my best to provide some objective thoughts and avoid "the hype."

I should mention that these 29-inch wheels are attached to a singlespeed aluminum hardtail. So far, after three rides, I've noticed these characteristics:

I roll over rocks more confidently. Notably so at slower speeds.

It's a b*tch for me to get it re-started on a rocky hill.

I seem to take turns with more confidence.

I don't seem to "finesse" this bike much. By this I mean shift my weight around, etc. I can't yet say if it's because I don't have to or I can't. I'm thinking some mix of both of these.

I've heard it said that these larger wheels make up for suspension. So far, I can't see this. The extra rubber or wheel size, or whatever, is not an equivalent to five-inches of full-suspension travel.

So, to sum up the experience so far, I'd say -- DIFFERENT.
Better in some areas, not as good in others.

This is the cool thing about different bikes. Each is its own experience!

I'm curious to see how my opinions evolve on this.
