Well I rarely blog even on my personal website, but since reading MuggClub66's bloggers needed post, I thought this one would be appropiate here.
Courtney and I started to plan a nice wedding on Killington peak in the fall of 2008. We love snowboarding at Killington and thought a winter wedding would be nice, but there wasnt really any way to get the family and all our friends up there in the wintertime. Plus my mom who lives in Biloxi would prolly freeze her .... buns off. Anyways we checked it out in the spring time and found no snow and green mountains awesome. Also knowing what it looks like for the most part in the Fall during leaf peeper season sealed the deal. We were gonna have it in the fall and invite all our friends and family to come up to Killington peak and see us get married. One catch though, we cant control the weather.
The nice Killington wedding planners assured us we would get a nice indoor location in case the weather did not cooperate. Well that didnt fly with Courtney. I gotta agree with her, the indoor locations were nice, but in no way compared to the rock on the peak. I wanted it as much as her. The only other option was to elope. Date depending on the weather. And thats what we did. This also freed us up to do whatever we wanted. We decided to mt bike down the mountian and get a ben and jerrys ice cream wedding cake. We even got married in our bike shorts and jerseys. My jersey was had an Tuxedo image on it and she wore a vail, so it was a little traditional
I made a couple of calls the night before to tell some friends and family what we were doing. My good friend Dave actually made the trip up and was there for the ceremony. That was awesome not only because he means alot to me and Courtney, but he was also able to take pics and video it for us! We wrote our own vows and had an interfaith minister do the deed for us. I dont know what else to say, it was the perfect wedding for us. We are so happy we did it, we even wrote that on our cake!
Dont mind the dates on the pics, we forgot to set it on the camera. More pics and video will be posted at our website www.billandcourtney.com
The Gondola ride up before we say I Do! I think we both look scared.
