Cool and Un-Cool

I had a great on-road, off-road adventure this weekend. I made my way from Bethlehem to Bath to Stockertown and Easton. Then rode back to Bethlehem via the Lehigh towpath. I consider myself fortunate to live in a region that offers these types of options.

I had hoped to incorporate a full loop at Jacobsburg, but arrived there to find the worst trail conditions I can recall. There is obvious disregard for the wet conditions and visitors are loving those trails to death. I know VMB does its best to educate riders when it's just not acceptable to ride on a trail. I do hope that organizations of other user groups are doing the same. It's a shame to see a park with such natural beauty being abused to this degree. VERY UN-COOL.

What was VERY COOL! is the new multi-use trail (even if it is paved) that I road from 13th Street in Easton to the intersection of Bushkill and Pearl (near 4th St.) Some of you might recall this section from old VMB Halloween/Don&Doug Fun Rides, etc. Not sure if I have this right, but I understand there's more connects in store for this route. It's shaping up to be a very attractive corridor.
