Is he going to put the year after ever blog entry?? Yes, so too bad. Last Wednesday Sarah, Dakota and I left the frigid temps and headed for florida. I was going for my mid winter fitness test at a 12hour race in Ocala. In the past i've placed 2nd to harlen price(IF), 2nd to Tinker, (these were at the old venue, razorback), 3rd last year, and i think a 4th many years ago. I wanted and thought i could win this year. The santos trail system is an amazing thing to check out. They have 2 jump parks, a freeride park , and miles of trail all in a state park. So cool. So we chilled out at the venue thursday night and friday . Saturday was the race. It was a 10 to 10. The racers to watch were Ernesto M(Speedgoat and 2nd place a 24hr worlds in 05 or 06, Harlen Price(Independent Fab, and close friend who i even fed the night before the race(he's a bit of a dejesus)), and Harvy Price (Indy Fab and winner last year,and seasoned local). The race went out fast and Harlen was out front with a fast group that was doing the six hour event. I started in 4th and passed Harvey right away. I then caught up to Ernesto and told him i was going to chase down Harlen , that i didn't want him to win too easy. On that lap i pulled the fastest lap of the day from all riders in all the catagories. (1st lap was prologue) The entire day was just fast, with consistant lap times for harlen, Ernie, and myself. All others were quite a ways back. At 6pm i caught Harlen while he was taking a long pit and i told him he better get going cause i was gonna catch him. He Took off even though i'm sure he knew i was kidding. In the end he took the win and i got second, Ernie third. The three of us completed 16 laps(144 miles). We lapped all other solos and no other team there topped 16 laps. My average heartrate for 12 hours was 161 and i dabbed once because somebody fell in front of me while lapping myself from last years performance. I only touched the ground once in the pits to light up. every other pit was on the fly at about 10mph grabbing supplies from sarah. Hard work for a whopping $300!!!! The next day sarah and i went to islands of adventure and universal studios. Monday we did Animal Kingdom and Disney Studios(aka MGM). Tuesday was Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Now my legs were tired. Wednesday we pulled a 18hr drive all the way home.(remember , i'm not the brightest star in the sky and my actions arent ever good ideas) Very fun trip though!!
